I always loved Disney and can remember watching it on Sunday evenings when growing up. I think he was influential in my creative development. I was always an imaginative and curious child asking questions and wanting to know why.

"Wish Upon A Star" is collage on cradle board. I hand paint most of the paper I use in collage. These papers began as Gelli prints that I embellished before they began their life as collage. A long process that is quite entailed to be sure...but it is all about the process...right?

The song Wish Upon a star was written for Disney by Leigh Harline for the movie Pinocchio and was sung by Jiminy Cricket. It has since become the representative song of the Walt Disney Company.

When you wish upon a star
Makes  no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you

If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do

Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing

Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true

When your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme

When you wish upon a star
Your dreams will come true

Oh those were simpler times full of imagination! Thanks for stopping by!

Spring has arrived in Texas and everything is in full bloom! The blue bonnets are gorgeous  and the weather is fine. We have been seeing lots of rabbits at Dragonfly Farm but not any long eared Jacks. I'm not sure what has happened to them but they have been scarce for a while. I love to paint the lanky long eared fellas. " A Good Scratch " caught this Texas Jack rabbit enjoying the cool evening shade and kicking some dirt out of his ear. This painting is 15 x 22 transparent watercolor.

Happy Easter!

For flowers that bloom about our feet. For tender grass so fresh and sweet. For song of bird and hum of bee. Father in heaven, we thank Thee!
