| Beginning The bottom photo is how this miniature piece started out. I lay down 4 or 6, 5x7 substrates and start playing. I have quiet a stash of collage papers...just ask my friends...something was said about hoarding, but I disagree! I am a collector! And talk about Green Art! Look at all the things I am repurposing! After I glue down all the paper I want to use, I start laying in the paint. I usually use acrylics along with lots of other things to get the effect I'm after. I wanted to give this a soft, dreamy effect of a young girl stretching in the wings getting ready for her performance. I left the words Front Row Shimmer showing...thus the title of this little jewel. |

| Here's To The Crazy Ones by Leada Wood © This is another miniature mixed media painting only 5"x7". I glazed paint, dribbled paint and splattered paint but that was only the beginning! I decided to use some of my collage paper I had created and a watch spring I had laying around but that was after I had added part of a poem by Robert Burridge that goes like this: Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits...the rebels...the troublemakers...the round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify them or vilify them. Because they change things. They invent...they imagine...they heal...they explore...they create...they inspire. They push the human race forward. Maybe they have to be crazy. How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels? We make tools for these kind of people. While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. ---Robert Burridge |

| All Feathered Up by Leada Wood© This painting is 8x8 on canvas with liquid acrylics. I am still painting for the upcoming Animal show at the Heritage Museum in Big Spring Texas. This fella has his feathers all in a ruffle so to speak...or All Feathered Up and places to go!
